God's Vision - New Project
Since the end of our Christmas trip, 2022, God has been growing a vision in Kirsten and I, for a new project, rooted in the work we’ve been doing for the last dozen years, but larger, more comprehensive, and more present. And then on our most recent trip that we took at the end of June and into July, through the many people He placed in our path and the affirmation we received through the work and experiences, God made the direction clear - the development of a teacher-training center. We’re thinking of calling it T2 Teacher Training, based in Siem Reap.
We began our trip in Phnom Penh and met with Pastor Ann from the ICA church. And while there we presented an afternoon workshop for the VDP staff (Village Development Program). They requested training on the topic of Biblical Integration, which is exactly what we would have wanted to present, being the core of Christian education. Then we traveled north to Siem Reap and met with an old friend, Dareth, who runs several different schools, along different models. Leaving Siem Reap, we took a bus to Battambang, where we presented a workshop for the staff of Salaa Hope, a Christian Khmer school that we have worked with many times in the past. Meanwhile Kirsten was able to complete the photos and interviews for her project recording the histories of those who survived the Khmer Rouge, picking up six new participants. Finally, we ended up the trip back in Phnom Penh, giving a message on marriage to students at the Kingdom Development dorm ministry.
I’m leaving out tons and tons of things. We’d be happy to talk your ears off if you would like to contact us. :) Suffice it to say we’re eager to return! March is the target - details will depend on how fundraising is going.
